Young mum's site to support parents

1 min read Social Care
A young mother has set up a website for young parents in Camden, London to access information and support.

Tania Jacobs received £4,000 from the Big Boost, a programme which gives grants to young people with ideas that will benefit their community, to set up the Parent Project website.

Jacobs, who had a son at the age of 16, set up the site because she realised a lot of young mothers lacked the support she was given. She wanted to offer young parents a website containing advice on benefits, housing, training and education. It also provides information on organisations offering help with childcare.

"I wanted to create a source that brings all this information into one place so all young parents have the support that I had," she said.
