YMCA branch wins advice funding

Youth Work
Barnard Castle YMCA in County Durham has received almost 100,000 to provide one-to-one advice services to young people over the next three years.

The centre received a £96,000 grant from the Northern Rock Foundation to help expand its work with young people.

The centre delivers a range of outreach and detached youth work services in the mainly rural area.

Richard Walton, spokesman for the Northern Rock Foundation, said: "The money will allow the centre to get involved on a more one-to-one basis with young people. It will allow it to provide support to the young people who need it the most."
