Workplace: Who's in your meetings? - Rose de Paeztron, development manager, Family Welfare Association

1 min read
What exactly do you do? We work with families and individuals in need, and I focus on the development of two preventative models: WellFamily, offering support in GP and other community settings; and Building Bridges, which supports parents with mental health problems to care for their children.

Describe a typical day. My focus is principally external: engaging with agencies who may or may not be familiar with our work already, thinking together about how we offer a service that will enhance existing services or identifying potential funding resources.

What other agencies, and who else within your organisation, do you work with? We have traditionally worked with families and their complex issues, rather than with single issues. This takes me to adult services, children and family services, health and, increasingly, to education, as they link with social care. I regularly connect with colleagues; services are tailored to the area they serve, so there are always good ideas.
