Workplace: Who's in your meetings? - Charlotte Hawkins, out of school co-ordinator, National Autistic Society

1 min read
What exactly do you do? I am the co-ordinator of the two groups run in Bath for children and young people with Asperger syndrome.

Describe a typical day. It involves liaising with the project leaders for the groups to ensure they are organised for their sessions and have enough volunteers and resources. I may also talk to parents. Sometimes I arrange training for volunteers and on others I chase volunteers for their application forms and Criminal Records Bureau checks. Some days I complete a funding application form, and on others I collect donations from a local business or school.

What other agencies, and who else within your own organisation do you have to work with? I work with the project leaders running the groups as well as colleagues within the National Autistic Society development team. I also work with the local play project to recruit and train volunteers.
