Recruitment challengeSolihull, rated as good in its recent annual performance assessment, isa children's trust pathfinder authority. The rollout of the children'scentre programme is well under way in the borough; three have beencompleted in north Solihull and the second phase will see a furthereight opened in other locations by 2008.
According to children's trust development officer Carole Da Costa, therollout means the council is looking for a "considerable amount" of newrecruits, although there are also plans being drawn up to use in-housestaff.
The council has recently been looking to recruit three children'scentres area co-ordinators. The successful applicants will co-ordinateintegrated services in one of three localities, as well as takingresponsibility for staff and financial resources at a local children'scentre.
