Workforce: CWDC to fund new ways of working

The Children's Workforce Development Council is funding five projects that aim to develop new ways of working with children.

The projects are part of the council's New Types of Worker programme andwill help ensure that children are at the centre of services.

One project will fund two workers at the Ian Mikardo School in TowerHamlets, including a family mentor, to promote positive parenting indisadvantaged families. And money has also been given to TamesideServices for Children and Young People to support children who arevictims of domestic violence.

Other funding will go to Home-Start UK, West Sussex Council, and theLondon Borough of Tower Hamlets in partnership with East London and theCity Mental Health NHS Trust.
