NYA Update: CWDC publishes evaluation of workforce reform programme

1 min read
The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has published an independent evaluation of the Young People's Workforce Reform Programme.

The programme ran for three years and was tasked with developing the skills of the people who work and volunteer with young people.

More than 500 stakeholders and participants were interviewed including the young people who delivered some of the training. Reported benefits of the training included increased confidence, improved ability to use new approaches and act flexibly in different situations, and increased aspirations.

Interviewees believed the voluntary sector capacity had increased and this helped create an infrastructure to support future workforce development, together with new and improved local relationships.

CWDC will now make the training materials more widely available to support the workforce deliver effective services to young people in these difficult times. The leadership and management training course materials will be available to download from the CWDC website in early August. Some of key materials from the voluntary sector training are now available.
