Work Wise: Funding briefs

The Adventure Capital Fund, a charity that finances community enterprise, has been appointed to run the government's 215m Futurebuilders fund. www.adventurecapitalfund.org.uk

Leicester City Council has secured £750,000 from the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) to improve mental health services in schools.

The Autism Education Trust has been given £35,000 by the DCSF to develop new projects including a scheme to engage black and minority ethnic autistic children. www.autismeducationtrust.org.uk

The government has made £140m available to boost the teaching of science and maths in schools in England. The money from the DCSF will help train more teachers to make lessons more exciting.
