Work Wise: Funding briefs

Autism charity TreeHouse has been recognised by New Philanthropy Capital, the organisation that recommends charities to potential donors.

- Derry City Council's annual main grant fund has opened for applications. Community and voluntary groups could benefit from up to £5,000 for projects intending to run between April 2008 and March 2009. www.derrycity.gov.uk

- Young people in Wales are to benefit from the Big Lottery "Make it Happen" fund. Projects in Merthyr Tydfil and Caerphilly received £5,015, some of which will pay for a safari trip for a girls' football team.

- The Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy is offering £20,000 prize money to the school that best promotes the responsible use of energy through teaching and practice. www.ashdenawards.org.
