WALES: Welsh Assembly Government to change children's services

The changes, which are to be included in an overview of children's services, are part of the assembly's response to the green paper Every Child Matters.

This is part of a process to decide which parts of the green paper approach to adopt for Wales.

Catriona Williams, chief executive of umbrella organisation Children in Wales, which hosted the Which Way Forward For Wales? conference at which Hutt spoke, said: "Every local authority, health board and NHS Trust will be getting a lead director for children and young people, which means that they can be held accountable for their services to young people.
