Wales: South Wales gets big funding fillip

Projects working with young people in south Wales have been allocated more than 1.2m from the Big Lottery Fund.

The funding, which is from the Reaching Out strand of the Young People'sFund, will go to a range of projects including those working withdisabled young people, and young people from minority ethnicbackgrounds.

The lottery has also announced 35,000 of grants through the MakeIt Happen strand of the Young People's Fund, which is aimed at communitygroups. This is the only strand of the Young People's Fund that remainsopen in Wales.
