Wales: Government funds save Diana charities

The charities were Sova's The Refugees in Wales Mentoring Project, a Nacro Cymru project for young people leaving custody, West Glamorgan Forum Advocacy Project and CADMED, which raises awareness of refugees in schools.

The West Glamorgan Forum had been promised 236,000 for a three-year project from the fund, but only received the first instalment before the freeze. Adele Gilmour, director of West Glamorgan Forum, which received 80,000 from the assembly, said: "The funding will help us continue our Voices and Choices project. The work helps to advocate for children and young people with learning disabilities, and those between school and college."
