The Home Office-funded kiosks, called Volunteer Points, are being run by Volunteering England in partnership with volunteering database do-it.org, to make it easier for people in rural communities to access information about volunteering.
The first nine Volunteer Points were launched in West Kent on 21 April and more were due to be launched in Dorset on 26 April. By March next year, 160 Volunteer Points will have been made available in England.
Ian Russell, who headed the recent national review of youth volunteering, has identified an accessible multimedia system of information and guidance about volunteering as an essential feature of the new National Framework for Youth Action and Engagement.
