Transport: Offenders could lose free travel

Conservative London mayoral candidate Boris Johnson has said that he will remove young people's transport privileges if they misbehave.

The Henley MP said he wants to stop under-18s travelling for free on London's buses if they commit antisocial behaviour.

"I am convinced low-level crime on buses is spawning more serious crime on the streets because they too often serve as glorified getaway cars for gangs, ferrying them from one crime scene to the next," he said.

Offenders could earn back their right to free travel by doing community work in a scheme called Payback London.
