The strategy outlines what needs to be done by government, schools, colleges and employers at a local and national level, explaining how resources will be targeted at specific geographical areas with the highest levels of disengagement.
It builds on initiatives such as "enhanced resource pilots", where Careers Scotland staff provide intensive support to pupils in a number of schools across the country, following its initial success in reducing unemployment rates among school-leavers in a number of Glasgow schools.
Reducing figures of 16- to 19- year-olds not in education, employment or training is one of Careers Scotland's three priorities.
