A diverse group of young people aged between 12 and 14 were recruited - several of whom had "discipline issues" or were already known to the youth offending service.
They developed a project that focused on learning from older generations in the community by listening to their experiences of living in the Old Trafford area over the years.
Working directly with groups from a local residential care unit and an over-50s South Asian Muslim group, the young people started by engaging in informal conversations, while playing dominoes and taking part in regular activities provided for the groups.
After gaining an insight into their views and backgrounds, they set about capturing a representation of different generations, cultures and faiths through creating a high-quality short film about the area they live in and what changes they had seen over their lifetimes.
