WHAT IS IT?
The Wildlife Trusts is an association of 47 independent local charities. It is the UK's largest voluntary organisation dedicated to conserving habitat and species and has 726,000 members, of which 135,000 belong to the junior branch, Wildlife Watch.
WHERE IS IT BASED?
The charity manages 2,200 nature reserves throughout the UK. Its head office is in Newark in Nottinghamshire.
WHAT WORK DOES IT DO WITH CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE?
Its Wildlife Watch arm runs groups for children and young people to explore nature and take part in activities. The charity is a top-down organisation, so each trust operates separately, but most work with young people in some way through schools or community organisations.
