The Roald Dahl Foundation

What is it? The Roald Dahl Foundation gives grants to hospitals, charities and individuals in the UK to help children and young people up to the age of 25. It funds projects where young people suffer from either neurological or haematological conditions such as epilepsy, meningitis, brain injury, sickle cell anaemia and thalassaemia. The foundation no longer funds literacy projects.

How much is on offer? Grants to individuals must not exceed £500. Grants to charities of up to £25,000 per year for a maximum of two years will be considered.

What will it fund? Grants to individuals on low incomes are to meet specific needs such as household items, clothing, fuel bills, toys and stimulation equipment. Areas that charities or projects can apply for include initial funding to support specialist paediatric nursing posts and the provision of information and support to children.

Who can apply? Individuals, charities and hospitals.
