The red carpet was rolled out for pupils at Sudbury Primary School in Brent, northwest London, as part of International Walk to School Week, which ran from 4 to 8 October. Pupils at St Francis CE Primary and Nursery School in Bournville, Birmingham, enjoyed a similar experience on the same day. The week, which was jointly organised in the UK by TravelWise and Living Streets, was promoted in 39 countries worldwide. The next National Walk to School Week takes place from 23 to 27 May 2005. www.walktoschool.org.uk.
