A wild encounter: Animals help Brent mark National Science Week

A pupil from Roe Green Infant School in Brent comes face to face with a snake during a workshop to mark National Science Week, which took place from 10 to 19 March.

The north London school's workshop gave children a chance to see andfind out about a selection of bugs and creepy crawlies from across theworld including spiders, millipedes and African snails. The workshop washeld to mark the week and it also let children try their hand atchromatography (separating chemical mixtures) using paper towels. Theevent, which also got parents involved, was designed to encouragechildren's interest in science.
