1 min read
Choose to use! That is the message from a group of youth workers in the Coventry New Deal for Communities area who marked Youth Work Week 2007 by putting their faces to a high-profile sexual health campaign in their area.

The Choose to Use campaign, created by Coventry NDC in July this year to tackle the problem of teenage pregnancy on its four estates, has successfully raised the profile of sexual health and condoms use. The youth workers used the week to boost the campaign by appearing in adverts, publicity and training as condom distributors.

Gemma Sampson, who runs the NDC Teenage Pregnancy Project and this campaign, said: "The youth workers we have used are all well known by young people in the area, so we are going for a celebrity-style campaign but with real, local people that young people respect and, most importantly, can get condoms from."
