Lead Agency: North Tyneside Education Service
Partners: Children's Express
Project: More than 30 young people aged 13 to 20 will be exploring the mining heritage of North Tyneside. They will research archive materials and, working with Children's Express, will interview people with personal knowledge of mining in the local community, including local history groups.
Educational resources will be created using journalism, fiction, sculpture and digital art. The group will cascade their knowledge to younger people during a two-week summer school.
