The National Youth Agency: Young people's views on police to inform plans

Findings of a consultation process to garner young people's views about the police in the West Midlands have recently been published. The National Youth Agency was commissioned by West Midlands Police Authority to conduct consultations.

With the support of local youth services, The NYA held ten events late last year across the West Midlands region, involving young people aged between 11 and 25.

Participants were asked their views on issues including: neighbourhood safety; antisocial behaviour; policing in their local area; their own experiences of the police; and what they felt police priorities should be for the next year.

The findings will be used to inform the Annual Policing Plan 2008-09 and Strategic Plan 2008-11. For more details contact Peta Halls on 0116 242 7436 or petah@nya.org.uk.
