The National Youth Agency: Young People's Development Programme

1 min read

YOUNG ROOTS - Worthing Essence; Lead Agency: Rainbow Theatre and youth drama trust; Partners: Worthing Youth Dance, Dome Cinema, Worthing Museum.

Project: Young people will produce a film that will form the backdrop for a play which will include young dancers, actor and musicians. The project will look at themes from the 1820s and 1830s, a time of economic depression in Worthing when smuggling started to take over from fishing. It also looks at issues of racism toward Jews, Gypsies and the Irish. A live performance and film premiere will take place in December 2005 at the Dome cinema.
