The National Youth Agency: The NYA welcomes new project officer

1 min read

In her new post, Becky is looking forward to working with CAFCASS, the organisation that supports young people whose families are involved in court proceedings, and also with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

"For me the most enjoyable part of it is actually working with young people, because you can experience their personal development for yourself," she says. "When you're actually helping to get them actively involved and get their voices heard, it's enormously satisfying to see their confidence and skills increasing."

In the immediate future, Becky will be pursuing an opportunity that arose through the British Council before her employment with The NYA began - she'll be travelling to Nigeria to help groups of young people develop resources for their own active involvement. "It's a wonderful opportunity, and I'm looking forward to it and nervous about it in equal measure," says Becky.
