Bari is the present secretary general of The Muslim Council of Britain and a member of the Inner Cities Religious Council and Pan-London Advisory Group on Faith. He is also a board member of The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and an author of several books on youth, parenting and identity.

Armstrong is one of the most provocative, original thinkers and authors on the role of religion in the modern world. She is a former Roman Catholic nun who left the convent to pursue a degree in modern literature from Oxford University. She has since taught at Leo Baeck College for the Study of Judaism, London University and other schools.
