The National Youth Agency: The Agency pledges support for learningoutside the classroom

1 min read

The manifesto aims to ensure that all young people have a variety of high- quality learning experiences outside the classroom environment. It seeks to improve both the quantity and quality of learning outside the classroom, and organisations are being encouraged to pledge their support by making public the actions they are already taking or intend to take.

Heather Stevens, head of policy at The NYA, said: "This is a really excellent opportunity for youth work. The manifesto is short on mentions of youth work but The NYA, and other youth work organisations, are clearly heavily involved in the areas it outlines. It seems to sit far more comfortably with youth services than with schools and I'd urge you to lay claim to this territory for youth work and sign up now. We'll be exploring over the coming months what more we can do to drive forward this agenda."
