The National Youth Agency: Changes at The National Youth Agency

1 min read
The National Youth Agency (NYA) is strengthening its business model and shaping its staffing structures ready for a more competitive economic environment.

"These are times of challenge and opportunity for us," said Fiona Blacke, chief executive of The NYA. "We're very clear; this is the right model for us as we face the economic challenges that lie ahead. Our mission and vision remain the same and we're still focused on improving the delivery of services to young people by drawing on the strengths of youth work and promoting young people's voice and influence. We'll continue to work in partnership with local authorities, government and others to deliver this."

Following a recent review and restructuring, The NYA is using the recent change in its Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) funding to strengthen its products and services and the commercial operation behind these. As a result of the restructuring, up to 16 staff will be made redundant, of whom 10 will take voluntary redundancy.
