The National Youth Agency: Quality - NYA and IiC alliance in human rights fight

The National Youth Agency participation team and Investing in Children (IiC) has launched an exciting partnership. Its aim is to enable interested partners to make use of the main strengths of each organisation to promote the human rights of children and young people. Partners can draw upon the Hear by Right standards framework from The NYA to build an effective participation strategy and the IiC Membership Scheme for external validation of the evidence from children and young people of dialogue and change.

In April, members of both teams (below) came together to explore shared values and joint commitment to develop a three-year programme for partners to help promote the genuine participation of children and young people. A number of local authorities and trusts have expressed interest. Contact liam.cairns@durham.gov.uk or billb@nya.org.uk or visit www.nya.org.uk/hearbyright.
