The National Youth Agency: Quality - Edge focuses on sector support arrangements

1 min read
The latest issue of The Edge, The National Youth Agency's newspaper about youth affairs for elected members, includes a free issue of What's Changed, a new collection of short, accessible case studies that look at how young people in five different areas have worked together to gain facilities and provision responding to their needs.

The Edge includes a feature about the government's consultation on support arrangements for the youth sector and the contribution youth work and youth services are making to improving the lives of children and young people.

Elsewhere, an article from David Hunter, chief executive of the sector skills council Lifelong Learning UK, explains why well-trained youth workers are a vital part of the workforce.

Other articles look at the success factors of the Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Funds, how young people took over for a day at Wiltshire County Council, the Buzz Off campaign against ultrasound devices (see story opposite), innovative responses to transport problems and a group of young people in Derbyshire tackling negative stereotyping. The Edge is available free of charge. Download it from The NYA website at www.nya.org.uk or to put your name on the mailing list. Email Helena Ferrao-Read at helenafr@nya.org.uk.
