National Youth Agency: The Edge looks at youth leadership

The latest issue of The Edge, the National Youth Agency's (NYA) newspaper about youth affairs for elected members, explores how youth projects can offer a way out of the crisis of leadership.

It considers a new report, Taking the Lead, published by The Youth of Today, a consortium of seven leading youth organisations including the NYA. It claims projects that offer a safe space for young people to exercise leadership in can play a major role in addressing challenges such as falling confidence in political leaders and increasingly difficult transitions.

Elsewhere The Edge explores Tory party youth policy plans, local democracy, solutions for engaging young people, intergenerational work, arts work, plans for information, advice and guidance, detached youth work and the onward march of YouthBank as it celebrates its 10th birthday.

The Edge can be downloaded from the NYA website at www.nya.org.uk or to join the mailing list and receive a free copy email Rita Kotecha on ritak@nya.org.uk.
