Youth Work and Extended Services in Schools shows how youth services and organisations can position themselves to work with extended services in schools in order to better meet the needs of young people and urges them to "seize the day".
The Agency welcomes the move towards a more holistic approach to education, which addresses the learning needs of all pupils and contributes to community cohesion.
As well as looking at the context in which youth work organisations are operating, the briefing considers what youth work providers might do to position and market themselves.
NYA chief executive Tom Wylie said: "Youth work brings a distinctive set of educational approaches and values, including a concern for young people's personal and social development alongside their academic and vocational learning, the use of particular methods and a set of ethical principles."
