Following a reception at the Liberal Democrats conference in Bournemouth, it hosted two meetings at the Labour Party conference in Manchester last week. The first helped launch a new Coalition for Young People - a group of national youth organisations that seeks to shape and influence the commitments made by the main political parties to secure positive outcomes and opportunities for young people, promoting inclusion and challenging inequalities. The coalition partners, alongside The NYA, are 4Children, Clubs for Young People, NCB, NCVYS, UK Youth and UK Youth Parliament.
Government ministers Ed Balls and Beverley Hughes both welcomed the new coalition. Presentations from young volunteers underlined the importance of listening to and involving young people.
