Produced for the Young Adults Learning Partnership by The NYA, the resource contains activities designed to support learners using the first three units of the curriculum - Unit A, "Knowing Myself",Unit B, "Coping with feelings" and Unit C, "Holding beliefs". Further books are planned with ideas for delivery linked to the other six units.
Stephen Foster, Getting Connected programme manager and joint author of the pack with Sarah Partridge, said: "Getting Connected is designed to help young adults on the margins of education and employment to reconnect with learning and foster their personal development."
Comprising 95 main activities, 23 additional activities and 27 resource sheets, the pack provides a range of creative and stimulating ideas that may be used or adapted to address all the elements of the learning outcomes for the first three units. The activities have been created or used by mentors using the framework in their work with young adult learners and demonstrate ways in which learners can engage with these units.
