1 min read
The National Youth Agency is looking for a development officer to drive forward the next phase of its community-funded Getting Connected programme in England.

Getting Connected is a curriculum programme that supports the re-engagement of disengaged young adults aged 16 to 25 into learning or work. The framework enhances the self-esteem and emotional literacy of young people outside the formal education system. It was developed with the National Institute of Adult and Continuing Education as part of the joint Young Adults Learning Partnership.

The post is fixed-term until March 2008 and applications need to be in by Friday 12 May. Applicants will need a relevant professional qualification and at least five years' current or recent experience of managing and delivering services for young adults, including their active involvement.

They must also have an understanding of the issues in the promotion, development and management of a curriculum for personal and social development with young adults and experience of quality assurance procedures, project and budget management.

Further details about the post and the application process are available from The National Youth Agency via email at personnel@nya.org.uk or by telephoning 0116 242 7400 (24-hour).

- The NYA has recently published Getting Creative with Getting Connected 2, the second of three planned resources supporting practitioners in the delivery of Getting Connected. This book covers units d, e and f, which look at handling relationships, getting and giving support and exploring risks. It costs 25, including postage. For more details on this and the first book in the series, contact NYA Sales. Tel: 0116 242 7427. Email: sales@nya.org.uk.
