The National Youth Agency: Empowerment - The NYA - making sure 'You're Welcome' in health services

1 min read
The National Youth Agency is involving young people in helping to ensure that health services are truly young people friendly.

The Agency's Youth Work for Health and Participation teams have been working in partnership with Brook to involve young people in the Department of Health pilot based on the You're Welcome quality criteria.

The aim is to help all health services become young people friendly and increase young people's participation in health service delivery.

Health services across the UK have been testing the You're Welcome self-assessment toolkit. Young people across England will be involved in the verification of the You're Welcome self-assessment after its launch in April.

A residential brought together young people from projects in Cornwall, Blackburn and London that already work with young assessors, young inspectors and young mystery shoppers to verify the quality of local services.
