The National Youth Agency: NYA events to examine key role of youth work in health issues

1 min read
The National Youth Agency is organising nine regional events to examine the key role that youth work has in addressing the health issues of young people.

Richard McKie, team leader of The NYA's Youth Work for Health team, said: "Whether it's teenage pregnancy, substance and alcohol misuse, obesity, unhealthy diet, risky behaviours, self harm or any other headline grabbing issue, there's no doubt that supporting young people with their health needs has never been so important." Each delegate at the events will also receive a copy of The NYA's Good Practice Guidelines for Healthy Youth Work, a groundbreaking quality assurance tool and resource for ensuring the effectiveness of health related youth work at all levels. The events cost £90 (£70 for voluntary organisations). Contact Sara Dickinson on sarad@nya.org.uk for further details or to book a place.
