Clearly, both the media and society have an ingrained view of young people as drug-taking, knife-wielding, drunken yobs who are a menace to society. It is a view that young people and those working with us despise. We know that this image of young people is false, and yet it is the only image that many people are shown in the media.
The UK Youth Parliament has decided to take this issue under its wing. It was one of six items up for debate when we went to the House of Lords, and several regions have taken it up as a regional campaign. One of these regions is the West Midlands.
