The National Youth Agency: Comment - Going up the hill

1 min read
This is a story about Shirley (surely you can't mean we are going up that hill) and Polyanna (just think how pleased we'll be when we've done it).

They tried to run the other weekend. This involved not wishing to step out of the door and such aching legs that a short cut seemed a good idea. The short cut took them across ploughed fields where the footpath signs ran out and all that remained for guidance was a stray steeple and a couple of silos in the distance. Shirley went up the hill and Polyanna was right - it was worth the effort in the end.

Work is a bit like this. At times the going is pretty tough, you lose your sense of direction and the weekend seems a million miles away. Everything you try seems doomed to failure. Tough.
