The recent postal strike doesn't seem to have affected the influx of new survey findings.

Another day and another survey pops up, as regular as clockwork, its results purporting to shed light on young people, what they think and how they see the society they're growing up in.

This would be a harmless enough diversion, even rather interesting, if occasionally there was one along the lines of "nine out of 10 young people are happy and say life is good and is getting better by the day". But far from this most survey results paint a picture of general dissatisfaction, if not downright doom, gloom and despondency. Which doesn't seem to accord with what individual young people often tell you when you chat to them.
