The National Youth Agency: Campaign to raise profile of counsellingservices

The two-year project, funded by the Department of Health, aims to improve young people's access to mental health services by enabling voluntary sector youth counselling organisations to be effectively integrated into the planning and commissioning of services. Youth information, advice, counselling and support services (YIACS) provide a combination of services under one roof to young people, including counselling, advice, information, outreach and personal support (drop-in, befriending, informal support and sexual health). The report calls for YIACS' work to be promoted through a national campaign to raise its profile and demonstrate the level of professionalism that underpins it.
