The National Youth Agency: Access - Raising awareness on agediscrimination

Youth Access is running two training events to raise the awareness of young people's advisers on age discrimination legislation and how it can affect young people in employment and training.

The half-day events will take place in London on 8 November and York on 15 November and attendance is free, although priority will be given to Youth Access members.

Youth Access is the national membership organisation for young people's information, advice, counselling and support services and a strategic partner of The National Youth Agency.

Barbara Rayment, director of Youth Access, said: "Most of the press coverage of the legislation has focused on the effect on older people and we are trying to redress the balance. The events should develop participants' understanding of the recently implemented Age Discrimination Regulations so our members and other services can provide effective advice and signposting to young people about their new rights not to be discriminated against."
