The event will explore practice and thinking about the future within a context of change, bringing together a range of keynote speakers and practitioner-led workshops. It is hoped that the conference will lead to the founding of a national organisation bringing together informal educators and youth workers operating in schools and colleges and will end with the launch of this body.
Sessions include youth work and extended schools, youth work beyond the mainstream, youth work: education or social control? and managing youth work in schools. See also the comment (opposite) by Tony Jeffs on youth work in a school setting.
