Seven Ideas into Action training seminars with bestselling author and trainer Vanessa Rogers will be held during February and March. These are Challenging discriminatory behaviour (3 February); Working with young people at risk (24 February); Detached youth work (3 March); Working with young lesbians (8 March); Working with gay young men (9 March); Working with young women (17/18 March) and Young people as volunteers (23 March).
All events take place at The NYA offices in Leicester.
Interest in the historical development of youth and community work has grown considerably in recent years and The NYA-published journal Youth and Policy is running its fourth study conference for those interested in this topic to get together to share their knowledge, ideas and research at Ushaw College, Durham, between 18 and 20 February. In addition to workshops, there will be two sessions led by invited speakers, a showing of the film The Lambeth Boys and a new and second-hand bookstall. The cost is 125 for residential places and 80 for non-residential.
