Project: The Kids Are Alright

Funding: Received £15,000 from the Office for Criminal Justice Reform's Race & Confidence Challenge Fund

Aim: To highlight the positive contributions of young people

Young people in Cambridgeshire are teaming up with the media in a campaign to challenge negative stereotypes. The Kids Are Alright is a multi-agency project promoting positive images of young people in Fenland. It delivers its message through surveys, prizes, weekly newspaper coverage and events.

It was launched in local newspapers The Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard in February following negative coverage of young people in parts of the national press. The campaign challenges stereotypes of young people by highlighting the positive contributions they make.
