The community I live in

1 min read Participation
I would definitely do something about my local area. No matter how many times they discuss it, there are no changes to the amount of vandalism where I live.

We have garages with dents, broken car windows and mirrors, branches broken off trees and a disgraceful amount of litter. Some children and teenagers have no respect for where we live at all. I think that is a disgrace, especially since it is their home as well. They knock over the bins, trample on the flowers and jump in and out of a locked-up generator, which is extremely dangerous.

How would I change it? I would get all the young people who are involved to come along to a community meeting and we would convince them that what they are doing is wrong. I would explain to them that our parents pay a lot of taxes to keep the area looking good, so when things are damaged we all have to pay more to repair them. This means that the more damage they do, the worse off their families are, as well as the rest of us. If this didn't work I would just have to ask those who vandalise to leave and go and live elsewhere.
