1 min read
What is it? The Care Leavers' Foundation Trust Fund is provided by the Bryn Melyn Group, and exists to enhance the life chances of young care leavers by providing them with opportunities to improve social inclusion.

How much is on offer? The small grants scheme offers a maximum amount of £800 to an individ- ual care leaver. There is no limit on the number of applications an individual can make.

What will it fund? The trust will consider applications for funds that will go towards: household costs such as furnishings; emergency living expenses; training, enterprise and employment costs; education costs; and therapy and exceptional medical needs.

Who can apply? Grant applications from care leavers between the ages of 18 to 26 are considered, specifically for funds to help with personal development, crisis payments, and education, training or employment needs. Care leavers aged 27 to 29 can apply for a grant to fund training and enterprise opportunities. The trust will not provide grants to individuals who should be assisted by their local authority.
