The Byron Review - Call for Evidence

1 min read Social Care Youth Work
The impact that violent, sexual or otherwise inappropriate content in video games and on the internet has on children and young people is frequently debated. But there is a lack of concrete evidence on the subject.

The Prime Minister Gordon Brown has asked a consultant clinical psychologist Dr Tanya Byron to conduct a review of the risks posed to children and young people by such content. As part of this review, Byron has issued a call for evidence seeking the views of people and organisations with an interest in the subject.

The call for evidence is split into three sections: video games, the internet and general comments. Alongside the general call for evidence, a version specifically seeking the views of children and young people under the age of 18 has also been issued. This has a later closing date of 17 December.
