The government is seeking opinions on the support available for a wide variety of organisations working with young people.

Were we expecting this consultation?

Yes, it's part of ongoing work in Aiming High, the 10-year youth strategy for positive activities. It was first announced by youth minister Beverley Hughes at a conference in December.

And what's it designed to find out?

As part of Aiming High, Hughes says she wants everyone who works with young people to be aware of "the bigger picture" of what they need. Crucial to that is the way frontline staff and organisations are supported in their work. So this consultation is designed to find out what the field wants from "sector support arrangements".
