The aim is to create a single lead body for the local delivery of Aiming High in the public, private and voluntary sectors to ensure it is backed up by strong national leadership and collaboration. The body's work will focus on helping professionals in their work with teenagers, involving young people in policy-making and getting private firms to donate more to voluntary groups. The consultation also wants ideas on how to encourage a wider range of organisations, including voluntary groups and private businesses, to provide services for young people.
The feedback from this consultation will be used to inform a wider government strategy, which is designed to slim down the number of advisory bodies that work with local authorities.
